The new version of Jade fixes the instability of the tab interface when interacting with more than a handful of documents. The tab interface is still being modified so that it displays better and ultimately is more usable than it is now.
New Features
- Theme Support – Now you can download theme’s uploaded from various users and you can customize your own skin. They are simple to download and simple to install.
- Theme Selection Dialog Box – Theme support is now in the root menu, off of the “Settings” section. It is very simple to change between theme’s you have recently downloaded.
- Raw Text Support – Jade natively supports raw text output out of all types of files, but does not yet support plug-ins or multiple file types. Its a long process of creating the extensibility, but we are getting closer to our goal.
What’s next to come?
- WYSIWYG – A what you see is what you get blog editor, for quick formatted documents.
- Plug-In Support – Jade will soon become the multi-document editor it has been boasting to be. The goal is to have 2 different type of plug ins. The first type of plug-ins will be File Handlers, which will have the ability to change the ‘text object’ into something specific for that file, will be called on an open of that specific file type, and will be sent the data from the object to save the file itself.
